It's the standard I use to judge all other games in the franchise, and Warhammer has fallen most short in this area. My favorite siege battles were from Medieval 2 total war.
Chief among these is the current state of siege battles, by far my biggest complaint with the Warhammer games.
However, amidst the many great additions and improvements that Warhammer Total War brought, there are some features that were stripped away or oversimplified. The economy, diplomacy, and campaign map work better than ever. They shifted historical accuracy to lore accuracy. They incorporated magic and monsters in a way that really worked and added new strategies and complexity to battles. I've always liked the historical settings of the franchise, but it was really fun to bring total war into a fantasy setting. Overall, I've really enjoyed the Warhammer and Warhammer 2 games. I'm a long time fan of the Total War franchise, starting with Medieval Total War and almost every Total War game to date.
